Skin tag removal

Skin tag removal

What is it?

Skin tags (acrochordons) are small benign skin growths, common on the neck, armpits, eyelids or under the breasts. They are removed when they are bothersome or for cosmetic reasons.

Who is it for?

Anyone bothered by skin tags (friction, jewellery, appearance).

How it is done

Removal at the practice in a few minutes; several lesions can be treated in one session.

Anaesthesia

Local anaesthesia or anaesthetic cream depending on the number.

Recovery

Small scabs for a few days.

The result

Clear skin, usually without a visible scar.

Risks

Like any procedure, this one carries risks that are rare but real (infection, haematoma, healing problems, asymmetry, reaction to anaesthesia...). They are explained in detail during the consultation, with written information.

The information on this website is general and does not replace a medical consultation. Any skin lesion that changes, bleeds or does not heal should be shown to a doctor. Every procedure carries risks, which are explained during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Is it painful?

The procedure is very quick and performed under local anaesthesia if needed.

Can they come back?

Those removed do not come back, but new ones may appear over time.

Is it reimbursed?

Dr Stroumza-Escoffier is contracted with the French national health insurance: medical procedures are reimbursed at the official rates, purely cosmetic procedures are not.

Where does the procedure take place?

At the practice, 11 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris. Most procedures are performed under local anaesthesia and take less than 30 minutes.

I live abroad: how should I organise my trip?

Contact the practice by phone or e-mail. An examination in Paris is required; small lesions can often be removed during the same stay, and the laboratory results are sent to you.
